Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what ShuttleMetrics (“we,” “us”) collects, why, and what control you have. ShuttleMetrics is operated from the United States and provides badminton video analytics. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. What we collect
- Account info. When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your email address and basic profile identifier from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Uploaded videos. The badminton match videos you choose to upload for analysis. These may incidentally contain images of you and others on court.
- Derived metrics. The outputs we compute from your video — shot stats, movement and coverage data, rally flow, Match IQ, and coaching suggestions.
- Usage data. Basic logs and analytics about how you use the Service (pages viewed, features used, device and browser type, approximate region, error diagnostics) to keep it working and improve it.
2. How we use your data
- to analyze your uploaded videos and generate your metrics and reports;
- to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- to manage your account, credits, and support requests;
- to detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, or security issues;
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your uploaded videos to train general-purpose models for other customers.
3. Retention — videos are deleted after 7 days
Uploaded videos are automatically and permanently deleted 7 days after upload. We retain only the derived metrics tied to your account, so your reports and progress history remain available while your account is active. Usage logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics. When you delete your account, we delete your derived metrics and account data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
4. Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted service providers (“subprocessors”) strictly to operate the Service:
- Google — authentication (OAuth sign-in) and your email/profile identifier.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud storage and GPU compute used to store uploads temporarily and run analysis.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the web application.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
5. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored and processed on infrastructure located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the US.
6. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Access the metrics and account information we hold about you;
- Export your derived metrics;
- Delete individual reports, or your entire account and associated data;
- Correct account information that is inaccurate.
To exercise any of these, use the in-app controls where available or email dhiraj.peechara@dataq.io. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR; we honor valid requests under applicable law.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and the security features of our cloud providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit retention — most notably by deleting raw video after 7 days.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service evolves. We will update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
