Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ShuttleMetrics (the “Service”), a badminton video-analytics product operated from the United States. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What ShuttleMetrics does
ShuttleMetrics analyzes badminton match videos you upload using computer-vision models and produces derived metrics — shot statistics, movement and court-coverage data, rally flow, and coaching suggestions. The Service is intended for personal training, self-coaching and recreational use.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You sign in through Google OAuth; you are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account you use and for all activity under your ShuttleMetrics account. Notify us promptly at dhiraj.peechara@dataq.io if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload video you do not have the right to share, or that contains people who have not consented to being recorded where consent is required;
- upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent the Service or its usage limits;
- resell, sublicense, or expose the Service’s outputs as your own analytics product without written permission;
- use the Service to build a competing dataset or model.
4. Your content and the license you grant us
You retain ownership of the videos you upload and of the metrics derived from them. To run the Service, you grant ShuttleMetrics a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and analyze your uploaded video and to generate, store, and display the resulting metrics back to you. This license exists only to operate and improve the Service for your account and ends for a given video when that video is deleted (see our Privacy Policy — uploaded videos are automatically deleted after 7 days; derived metrics are retained).
5. Accuracy — metrics are estimates, not coaching certainty
All outputs are automated estimates produced by computer vision and depend heavily on your camera setup. Spatial metrics (distance, speed, landing position, heatmaps) require a locked, elevated, full-court view; other footage supports only event and tactical metrics. The Service may mislabel shots, miss rallies, or misestimate speeds. Outputs are provided for informational purposes and are not professional coaching, medical, or training advice. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for training decisions, and consult a qualified coach for anything that matters.
6. Credits and payments
The Service uses a credit model: one credit analyzes one game. Free credits, purchased credit packs, and subscription plans are described on our Pricing page. If an analysis fails for reasons attributable to us, the associated credit is refunded to your account. Paid features and checkout are being rolled out; where payments are not yet available, we provision credits manually.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may impose or change usage limits, at any time.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing dhiraj.peechara@dataq.io. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to other users, third parties, or us. Unused one-time credits may be forfeited on termination for cause.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShuttleMetrics and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
